Exhibit Log is software. It is not a lawyer, and it is not a substitute for one.
What Exhibit Log is
Exhibit Log is document-preparation software directed by its user. You decide what to capture, what to file, and what to send. Exhibit Log records what you tell it, organizes it, and prints it in a form other people are used to reading.
What Exhibit Log is not
- It is not a law firm and does not practice law.
- It does not give legal advice, recommend a course of action, or apply the law to your situation.
- Using it creates no attorney–client relationship, and what you enter is not privileged.
- It does not select documents for you or review them for legal accuracy or sufficiency.
Deadlines
Exhibit Log does not calculate legal deadlines. Dates in it are the dates you enter, such as reminders you set yourself. Limitation periods vary by claim, by state, and by facts that software cannot see. Have a licensed attorney confirm any date you intend to rely on.
Platform policies and the law are different things
Exhibit Log shows each platform's own published policies, quoted in that platform's words with a link to the source. You pick the policy to report under. Exhibit Log does not decide whether a post breaks any policy, and it does not assert that any law has been broken. Whether conduct is unlawful is a question for a lawyer and, ultimately, a court.
Evidence
Exhibit Log records a cryptographic hash of each file when you add it, so you can show the file has not changed since. That is not the same as proving what was at a web address at a given time, and it is not a ruling on admissibility. Authentication and admissibility are decided by the court under the rules that apply to your case.
Software can be wrong
Parts of what Exhibit Log produces are generated automatically and can be incomplete or incorrect. You are responsible for the contents of anything you file or send. Read it before it goes out.
Jurisdiction
Exhibit Log is built for use in the United States. Platform policies, filing routes and statutory deadlines referenced in the product are United States sources.
If you are in immediate danger
